These grants are designed to increase awareness of and access to a range of services and resources that lead to improved outcomes for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers.

Through this new initiative, ACL seeks to strengthen relationships with rural and underserved communities, promote community-based screening for early intervention, and address barriers to care for people living with dementia and their caregivers.

In September, ACL awarded two three-year cooperative agreements to deliver a range of culturally competent education and training services that will collectively increase dementia capability in the Native communities they serve.

This webinar will explore DETAC’s recently published Empowerment Through Partnership employment toolkit for CILs and feature a panel of community stakeholders who will share real-world examples of successful collaborations to advance employment and economic outcomes for people with disabilities.

Award recipients will support the development and advancement of knowledge and approaches to addressing new and emerging issues related to tribal elder justice. Recipients will focus on identifying innovative, new, or novel ideas, programs, or approaches to develop or enhance adult protective services (APS) to address abuse, neglect, and exploitation in tribal communities.

ACL’s Office of Elder Justice and Adult Protective Services is awarding nine new grants through the Elder Justice Innovation Grant funding opportunity. These three-year grants, totaling $2.63 million, support the development and advancement of knowledge and approaches related to new and emerging issues in elder justice.

This gathering recognizes the nation’s 63 million+ family caregivers and 5 million+ direct care workers, whose dedication helps people live independently in their homes and strengthens communities across the country.

The Alternative Financing Program (AFP) grant awards establish or expand AFPs that provide individuals with additional options to access and acquire assistive technology (AT) devices through a low-interest loan fund, an interest buy-down program, a revolving loan fund, a loan guarantee, an insurance program, or others.
