ACL's Paralysis Resource Center (managed by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation) has awarded four High Impact Innovative Assistive Technology (HIIAT) Quality of Life Grants, totaling $300,000. The Quality of Life Grants Program supports nonprofit organizations that empower individuals living with paralysis. Funding for this new cycle of grants was made possible through a cooperative agreement with the Administration for Community Living.

The Elder Justice Coordinating Council (EJCC) brings together leaders from across the federal government to address issues of elder justice nationally. Council members include the leaders of federal departments, agencies, and entities administering programs related to abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation. The EJCC will host its next meeting on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 9:30am to 12:30pm ET. The meeting will take place at the Capitol Hilton in Washington DC and will be live-streamed online.

In 2019 the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Administration for Community Living (ACL) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requested that the National Quality Forum (NQF) convene a committee of experts with lived and professional experience in long-term services and supports (LTSS), and with the acute/primary/chronic care systems. This committee aims to provide ACL, CMS, federal and state entities, and the general public with a consensus-based, multistakeholder view of multiple areas of person-centered planning.
