Through its Specialized Aging Support program, the Arc Jacksonville launched services in support of its community, including an interactive day center for those living with and at high risk of dementia, caregiver support and education, and trainings focused on I/DD and dementia. This program has established a more dementia-capable workforce that is equipped for this next phase of life for many individuals living with I/DD.

The purpose of the FIPs program is to generate new knowledge through research or to develop methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technologies to maximize the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family/caregiver support, and economic and self-sufficiency of people with disabilities, especially people with the greatest support needs.

Free NCAPPS technical assistance is currently available through the end of August 2025. To apply for technical assistance, states must complete and submit the online application form. States that submit applications by the end of the day on December 31, 2024, will receive priority review. Applications submitted after this date will be considered based on remaining available funding.

These goals include equity in service delivery, advocacy on behalf of older adults and family caregivers, appropriate stewardship of funds, and efficient administration and oversight of these public programs.

ARRT grants are intended to increase the number of high-quality disability and rehabilitation researchers. Grants are made to institutions of higher education to provide research training to individuals with doctorates or similar advanced degrees. The researcher trained by these grants will improve the community living and participation, employment, and health and function outcomes for people with disabilities.
