ACL encourages stakeholders in our aging and disability networks to apply to join one of two advisory groups run by the National Advisory Committees that bring together top experts from across the country to provide valuable advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The Center of Excellence to Align Health and Social Care’s 2025 Community Care Hub National Learning Community (NLC) is offering a unique opportunity to strengthen your organization’s capacity, expand existing partnerships, and share your insights with peers nationwide.

This strategic plan will identify scientific themes and develop operational goals and objectives to advance research activities that promote the health and well-being of people with disabilities. Central to the strategic planning process is robust and meaningful community engagement to obtain a diverse range of input that will help inform the plan.

ACF has launched a new peer support services survey to learn from existing programs and identify interests and gaps that will guide the development of future ACF resources. Findings from this survey will inform various agency activities, help ACF explore emerging areas of need, and improve programs.

November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, histories, and contributions of American Indians and Alaska Natives in the United States. Here at ACL, it’s also a time to highlight our work to support tribal elders and people with disabilities living independently in tribal and indigenous communities across the country.

The next webinar in our "LIVE with ACL" technical assistance webinar series will cover the definitions sections of both the APS regulation and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Access Rule. The webinar will include a discussion of how state Medicaid units are implementing the CMS Access Rule and the opportunities this presents for APS programs.

Every year, ACL's Eldercare Locator leads “Home for the Holidays,” a campaign to encourage friends and families to use holiday visits as an opportunity to talk about an important topic affecting the health and well-being of older adults. This year, the focus is on increasing awareness of common scams, including tips to avoid fraud and what to do if you suspect you’re a victim.

All submissions will be considered for inclusion in the Social Engagement Innovations Hub — a searchable clearinghouse of best practices and data-driven interventions, programs, and services promoting social connections across populations. Contributing to this hub will encourage adoption, replication, and awareness of programs to address social isolation and loneliness.

During this webinar, attendees will hear from an expert panel including representatives from the disability and aging networks at the national, state, and regional levels. The webinar discussion will highlight the importance of accessible resources, evacuation planning, and strategies to ensure critical services are available and inclusive before, during, and after extreme winter events.

This webinar will briefly touch upon the wide range of AT currently available and how it can be used to make a home accessible. Presenters from New York will detail how their cross-sector partnership was formed, what unique perspective each member brought to the team, and best practices and lessons learned from their pilot program.
