Dementia Training for Law Enforcement Personnel: Building Partnerships to Enhance Community Safety Thursday, February 24, 2022, 1:00-2:00 PM ET

The National Council on Disability is an independent federal agency charged with advising the President, Congress, and other federal agencies regarding policies, programs, practices, and procedures that affect people with disabilities. NCD will host their next quarterly meeting on Thursday, January 27, from 12 to 4 p.m. EST via Zoom.

On January 14, the White House announced a new initiative to help ensure Americans have COVID-19 tests on hand in case they are needed. The website to order at-home testing kits -- at no cost -- is now live and accepting orders.

In observance of Brain Injury Awareness Month 2022 and in lieu of the Administration for Community Living’s annual in-person Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Stakeholder Day, we hosted a virtual TBI Stakeholder Day on March 8, 2022 from 12:30 to 4:30 pm ET.  The event included opening remarks from Alison Barkoff, Principal Deputy Administrator of ACL, and introduction of the new Commissioner of ACL’s Administration on Disabilities, Jill Jacobs.

The National Paralysis Resource Center (operated by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation) is announcing two grant funding opportunities through its 2022 first cycle Direct Effect and Expanded Impact Quality of Life grants initiatives that will open for applications on January 26.
