ACL has opened a new funding opportunity under the statutory authorities in Section 2922 of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 and

ACL's Administration on Disabilities (AoD) seeks to fund one cooperative agreement  for a Self-Advocacy Resource and Technical Assistance Center. This award will be made as a Project of National Significance as described in the Developmental Disabilities Act of 2000. The Self-Advocacy Resource and Technical Assistance Center will:

Chronic pain is rising because of an increase in related conditions within a growing aging population. In particular, individuals eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid have higher levels of chronic pain, and use prescription opioids to treat pain more often than those eligible for Medicare only.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the country has seen a significant increase in anxiety, depression, and other behavioral health conditions. Substance misuse has also increased significantly.

Head Start grantees are eligible to receive American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds based on funded enrollment levels. The ARP also provides many sources of direct and indirect financial relief for low-income families. Head Start programs can help all staff and families access critical supports that they are eligible for.
