Retirement can seem mysterious which makes planning for it even more important, especially for women. Women face additional challenges when planning for retirement. And as we have seen this year, life has a way of throwing changes our way. For women getting time on your side will help you be more prepared. While some women may be able to rely on employer retirement plans, many women interrupt their careers which can mean less savings in a workplace retirement plan, personal savings, and Social Security benefits. These savings have to last longer because women typically leave the workforce early and live longer, often into their eighties and nineties.
