ACL Releases NIDILRR Toolkit

March 26, 2024

ACL is pleased to announce the release of the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) Toolkit.

The purpose of the toolkit is to tell NIDILRR's story, including NIDILRR’s history, role, framework, work, publications, and resources. Although the information is available through the NIDILRR webpage, grantee websites, and several publications, this toolkit provides the information in one place. The toolkit is intended to be used as an educational resource for stakeholders who may benefit from learning about NIDILRR and its resources and as a communication tool for stakeholders who want to inform others about NIDILRR’s work and resources.

The toolkit includes:

  • Highlights of NIDILRR’s history, role, and mission
  • Description of target populations for NIDILRR’s work
  • Explanation of the outcome domains (areas of focus)
  • Summary of NIDILRR’s research grant investments and reach
  • Overview of publications from NIDILRR
  • Disability research resources funded by NIDILRR

Please send questions about the NIDILRR Toolkit to NIDILRR-mailbox@acl.hhs.gov.

NIDILRR, part of ACL, generates new knowledge and promotes its effective use so that people with disabilities can perform activities of their choice in the community. NIDILRR also works to expand society’s capacity to provide full opportunities and accommodations for people with disabilities.
