Information for individuals with disabilities:

If you are a person with a disability, you may be eligible for a special hiring authority, known as “Schedule A.” Schedule A gives federal agencies an optional, and potentially quicker, way to hire individuals with disabilities. It offers applicants an exception to the traditional hiring process.

If you have your Schedule A letter, you may submit your letter and resume directly to ACL’s Selective Placement Program Coordinator, Cory Gilbertson, at cory.gilbertson@acl.hhs.gov. (You also may apply to the vacancy announcement above.)

To be eligible for Schedule A, you must provide a "proof of a disability" letter stating that you have an intellectual disability, severe physical disability, or psychiatric disability. You can get this letter from your doctor, a licensed medical professional, a licensed vocational rehabilitation specialist, or any federal, state, or local agency that issues or provides disability benefits.

For additional information on and tips on how to apply for a federal position under the Schedule A authority, you may go to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s website, The ABCs of SCHEDULE A Tips for Applicants with Disabilities on Getting Federal Jobs.
