The target audience for the National Caregiver Support Collaborative’s (NCSC) technical assistance and related activities includes entities typically involved with implementing and operating programs funded by the Older Americans Act (OAA), including state units on aging (SUAs); area agencies on aging (AAAs); local aging and family caregiver support providers; kinship, grandparent and grandfamily service providers; tribes and tribal entities; and other organizations that may be part of the aging and tribal services networks. If you represent the target audience organizations described above, please send us an email.
Each NCSC project is expected to focus its activities on all populations of family caregivers addressed by the National Family Caregiver Support Program (OAA Title III-E) and the Native American Caregiver Support Program (OAA Title VI-C). In addition, grantees identify opportunities to tailor approaches to family caregivers not directly supported by these programs — such as adult family caregivers under age 55 supporting people with disabilities under 60 — but for whom such innovations might be helpful.
In addition to the work of individual grant projects, the NCSC Technical Assistance and Coordinating Center (TACC) conducts cross-cutting technical assistance activities, including:
- Identifying and disseminating best and promising practices
- Creating a resource repository of programs and services
- Developing a caregiver assessment and “build-your-own” assessment assets
- Facilitating collaboration between grant projects
- Evaluating the effectiveness of all NCSC activities
The NCSC TACC also coordinates activities with other initiatives and organizations, including resource centers funded by the Administration for Community Living.
